We'd like to extend our thanks to ALL of the rangers that participated. We also would like to take the time to mention the top three! | Starting in third place, #1Teddiursafan bravely ventured over to the stormy islands, calmed the parents hearts and saved 10 eggs! | | Our second place ranger, Westrmistr, boldly and swiftly saved 15 eggs and returned them home safely without a scratch! | | However, our Top Ranger, who will accordingly receive a special title, fearlessly boarded our Gyarados during the first wave of transportation which swept him out to the islands where he managed to find ALL 20 of the eggs and effortlessly quelled the fears of their respective parents! |
Without further adieu, our top ranger is... Dialga111!Once again, thank-you to all who participated! It has taken a while for the experts to monitor the aftermath of the storm. Too much of the earth has been erroded away and the islands to the south are no longer in visible existance. We are not sure if any secrets have been burried with the islands, but a team of excavators are working to explore the underwater ruins. Luckily, Isune was for the most part, undamaged, with the exception of major wind and flood damage to the twin islands. "The Egg has Hatched a Pepeep!"The eggs have now hatched and been returned to their parents back in their respected regions, whome are now being rehabilitated into their new environments. Only one egg hasn't hatched, which a leading ranger found as they were heading out. It was half buried in mud and was abandoned by it's parent pokemon. It does not look native to the islands and no one is certain what will hatch from it. But, by the fact that it does not seem to be moving, researchers are fearing the worst. However, warmth and love from a trainers heart has proven to stimulate eggs. Please, click on the egg to hold it and warm it up! Perhaps the egg still has a chance! You may only click on the egg once a day! Thank-you!
QUOTE DIALGA APPEARED: Seeing our struggles to defend the eggs from the plagues of Hurricane Seadra, Dialga has graciously agreed to help by stopping time around the storm, buying us until Thursday, April 8th at 6.00pm. By then, Dialga will no longer be able to seize time and the storm will be much too close to the island and all rangers will have to vacate. Calling All Rangers! The ranger bases have deployed transportation out to the islands that are about to be hit by the devastating hurricane! Haven't been keeping up with the weather reports? Click here! Your mission is to head to the island and retrieve the eggs before the storm hits and destroys them all. Unfortunately, it's not that simple. That's why we've asked your help! The parent pokemon of these eggs are very anxious with the storm, and are trying to protect their eggs from any harm. They don't understand that we're trying to help protect them. Another team of experts will try and carry as many of the pokemon off the island as possible, but it's YOUR job to use your stylus to capture the parent pokemon's heart to help them understand your purpose in saving their precious eggs. We need your help now! Rangers, please report to the docks immediately. Here, you will receive important information on the approximate location as to where to retrieve the eggs as well as important clues to help capture the parent pokemon's heart. If you are unsure of the parent clue, we suggest you research some of the key points to help you along. Also, please report any and all of your findings back at the docks. To go to the docks and sign up your help, Click here! All information will be confidential until the storm has passed.
Got Fakemon Concepts?Great! You're in the right place. Welcome to the staff fakemon concept thread. You don't have to be an artist to be a part of dox. All you need is an imagination. You can let US do the art; if you want. Submitting an IdeaSo you've got a great idea and you'd like to see what it'd turn out like as a fakemon. Feel free to post it here, and myself, or another staff member will gladly sketch it if the idea is accepted. Note that not all ideas will be accepted, but, once a concept is posted, all concepts become the property of dox. Yes, if you would like to submit your sketches of fakemon, that would be perfectly fine as well. If you choose to submit an idea... Here is a guideline.Name: (Name of Fakemon) [Optional] Type: (Element Type(s)) Evolutions: (Undecided, No, 1 or 2) General Idea: (What your concept is based around) Description: (Short description of what the fakemon looks like) [Optional, but Recommended] Feel free to submit more than one idea. If your idea has an evolution, please fill out the form for the number of evolutions. We will let you know as soon as possible whether or not if we accept your idea for the fakemon. If we do accept it, the concept sketch will be edited into your post, and will be displayed on the first page of the thread, with credit given to you. The second part of the contest has finally come to an end! Spriters did a fantastic job of using their creative minds to come up with a design. We had a total of 12 entries total; and we were glad for the support. So, we'd like to say thanks to the twelve contestants who participated in the conclusive round of the first contest! Once again, it was a very tough, and very close decision but the judges have decided that the winner is.... -drumroll- The judges were very torn on this decision. Minorly modified, we eventually came to the conclusion that Hullabaloo's entry best suited dox. It's not too light and not too dark, which allowed for us to see it's features minorly, and allowed for the sprite to still feel very wispy. It's capturing red eyes made it feel like an eerie soul, and we felt it captured Ash Ketchup's description well. We also looked at how re-creatable it would be for mass production, and with a few modifications, we felt it was up to par in this catagory. So, without further ado, congratulations Hullabaloo! (hey... that rhymed...) Once again, we'd like to thank all that have participated in Pokedox's very first contest. Keep your eyes on the look out for more whisp pokemon as well as the next contest! Thanks again, everyone! 00000001
ello and Welcome to Pokedox's First Official Contest (PART TWO!), brought to you by The Mod Team. We are going to be offering you the chance to contribute ideas and art to be displayed in game on Pokedox. That's right; if your entry is voted the best, you have the chance of everyone knowing your name and seeing your work. We know how much you guys love showcasing your artwork and getting your ideas out, so, we thought a few contests were in order! Not to mention, winners will get their hands on a sweet trophy! All official contests will end on the specified date. Anyone and everyone can enter, just make sure it's your best work. The moderator or moderators in charge of the contest will discuss all entries and announce the winners up to three days after the due date. By submitting your work, you hereby understand and agree to the following terms and conditions. Upon submission, you give your permission to Pokédox for the use of your creation, idea and/or art in any way or form. All forum rules apply. Art theft will be punishable by warn, suspension, or ban regarding the severity of the offence. Credit will be given --to the artists whose work is submitted and accepted-- where due. You understand and agree that even under penalty of suspension or ban, we are not required to remove any art or idea that you have submitted. As well, under the circumstance that we remove your submission for any reason, be it art or idea, we will no longer, under any condition, be required to give you credit for the removed item. Before submission, we advise you to read and review the rules for entering contests. Check them out here That being said, let the contest begin! : Dox is needing a new style of pokemon. Shiny's cool and all, but it's just not going to cut it. We need more! Being our first contest, it's going to have two parts to it. The First Part
Our first part is calling all you writers. It's one thing to create a new style, like shiny, but where did it come from? why did it happen? That's where you come in. Pitch your idea for a new style of pokemon, and tell us how it came into existance.
The Second PartQUOTE The second part calls out to spriters. Congratulations to Ash Ketchup and his Spirit Style idea. The style, however, needs to be designed now! We will only require 1 sprite to be created in your design, but would prefer 2 to get a better feel for the design. If we see any sprites that are merely lightened, or we will consider it spam and you will recieve a warn. Ash Ketchup's Winning Entry
Style Name: Spiritual/Whisp Pokemon Spiritual Pokemon are the lost souls of departed Pokemon. They have light-colored bodies, almost pure white and their features are scarcely visible. Sometimes, one gets an opportunity to see the blood red eyes of the creatures. Parts of their body seem to 'evaporate' into the air as if wind is blowing at them.
It is believed that these so-called 'Spirit Pokemon' were once ordinary Pokemon who have been tortured or misled by evil. Thus, when they finally died, they were not able to get to the 'other world' where they should normally go. They remain in the material world, going around seeking true rest.
The Spirit Pokemon first started appearing in Lavender Town, which was near an evil organization called Team Rocket. The cruelest members of this association would torture Pokemon that disobey or try to run from them, thus corrupting the Pokemons' spirits within.
Even though their bodies are like vapor, they can still be caught in Pokeballs.
No known cure has been discovered at the moment, but it is believed that these creatures will find rest once the evil in this world is gone.
Habitat: Spirit Pokemon appear during nighttime. They are easily found because of their color contrast with the darkness of night. Though, catching them is not as easy.
Behavior: Spirit Pokemon are naturally passive, just looking at wandering trainers at night. Sometimes they can be heard 'weeping'. Once disturbed by a bright flash or loud noise, they can quickly become aggressive.
: One sprite in your designed pallet (preferably two). The sprite design must revolve around the idea of the winning part one entry, located above. : April 4th, 2009DO NOT post anything that is not an entry to the contest. This means, do not post comments or questions. Anything posted that is not an entry to the contest will be deemed as spam and may result in a warning.
